Some men experience discomfort due to prostate cancer while others do not even feel its presence as they remain asymptomatic. Men with prostate problems usually observe some trouble related to urination. There are several other indications of its presence which include erectile dysfunction, pain in the pelvic region, back and hip pain, and discomfort, but urinary problems are most common.

    Difficulty While Starting to Urinate

The prostate is located just between the urethra and the penile. The urethra is a tube that transfers urine from the bladder to the prostate which in turn carries it to the penile duct. Due to cancer, the prostate grows unusually and starts pressing against the urethra which causes discomfort, and the individual may have difficulty passing urine.

A weak urine system along with some discomfort is the major sign of a prostate problem. However, it may or may not be cancer, as the discomfort can be due to a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) wherein the prostate develops abnormally and exerts pressure on the urethra. BPH is a non-cancerous growth of the prostate which does not cause any harm, but it presses against the urethra and causes urinary problems. It does not spread and causes problems to other organs. To relieve the discomfort and pressure on the urethra, you must get yourself checked by your doctor. They will examine the abnormal growth of the prostate and perform a diagnosis to restore the urinal function.

Erectile Dysfunction Due to Prostate Cancer

Cancer can also give rise to erection problems along with ejaculatory issues. Erectile dysfunction is a condition wherein men face difficulties in attaining and sustaining erections. It is a common problem in older men. Vidalista is one of the best medicines to treat ED issues in men. Although, they may not experience severe difficulty in getting erections the pain due to prostate enlargement can affect their performance. The prostate might as well cause difficulty during ejaculation. Which may affect men’s ability to engage in sexual activity.

Almost all men experience severe symptoms of erectile dysfunction after getting treatment for prostate cancer. The symptoms may last for several months after getting the treatment and once the nerves improve substantially, the erection function improves as a result. Sometimes individuals after prostate surgery may lose their nerves due to the spread of cancer in the nerves. Such individuals are permanently affected by erectile dysfunction, and they cannot get erections.

    Frequent Urination During Nighttime

An enlarged prostate can keep you up at night by causing frequent urination. The abnormal growth of the prostate puts pressure on the nearby organs such as the urethra, bladder, and tubes or ducts that carry seminal fluids or urine. You may have to run to the bathroom several times which makes it extremely uncomfortable.

The prostate is normally walnut-sized but during its cancerous growth, it develops and grows bigger in size. It blocks the flow of urine from the urethra to the penile. Some urine might get leaked or dribble from the duct, but it mostly gets blocked due to the size of an affected prostate. Therefore, it is necessary to get the treatment, otherwise, it will affect the other organs by infecting them and impacting their function. It can give rise to several other complications including, kidney dysfunction, more serious urinating problems, and bladder infections.

    Burning Sensation While Urinating

Some men might experience a burning sensation while passing urine. This sensation might cause pain which can interrupt the flow of urine and make the individual hold their urination and try again and again. However, even if you get prostate surgery, initially you might feel difficulty during urination. It will slowly heal and take some time for the urinary function to get restored for performing its optimal function.

Pain Experienced Due to the Unusual Growth

Prostate cancer can lead to pain in the muscles, organs, bones, and other parts of the body. It can affect the functioning of other organs and might cause severe damage to them. If the bones get affected, they might start weakening and causing pain. The individual may experience pain while walking or even moving. Sometimes, cancer can also get spread to the spine which can worsen the pain.

There is also the possibility of nerve damage due to prostate cancer. It can lead to neuropathic pain which causes a stabling, burning, or shooting sensation. The affected area might even become numb. The intensity of pain may vary as it may come and go. You may seek therapy from a palliative care doctor or a nurse that can help to manage the pain and subside it.

    Blood in Urine or Semen

Blood passing from urine or its traces in seminal fluids can be a strong symptom of prostate cancer. The prostate grows abnormally and puts pressure on the other organs. It irritates the nearby organs and blocks their function. This irritation can cause blood to appear in your urine or semen. However, the reason for blood can also be due to some other reasons like injuries, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

    Pain Experienced During Ejaculation

Affected individuals may experience pain while ejaculating. As the prostate grows it presses against the tubes, bladder, urethra, and other organs which makes it difficult for the testes to push the sperm by causing contractions. These contractions to push the sperms out from the testes through the ducts to the ejaculatory duct can cause intense pain. The volume of semen may also get decreased due to prostate cancer.
