It is safe to drive cautiously while being on the road. But, there are times and incidents when even the perfect driver cannot avoid it. Unfortunately, if you are involved in a mishap and not wholly at fault, then there are specific things you should keep in mind to avoid making mistakes. Below, we will explain it to you.

    Accident Entailing A Third Party:

Car accidents can be devastating, impacting the lives of people mentally and physically.

A car accident can cause a lot of anxiety, no matter how long a person is driving or how old he is. In case of an accident, it is essential to know what you should do and what you shouldn’t do to stay secure when it comes to your car warranty coverage claim.

After a mishap, you should inform the motor warranty company, get medical assistance, and report the scene to the police. Explained below are a few things you should look at doing:

    1. Don’t flee the accident site – The law states that any party involved in a motor accident should stop the car immediately, irrespective of whether the vehicle has caused death, injury or property damage. You will be penalized if you fail to do so and leave the accident scene. If you are a party in an accident, report to the nearby police station and provide medical aid to the injured.
    2.  Call the cops – People think after an accident, it is crucial to inform the police only if there is a death. This is untrue. It is essential to report the accident to the police for further proceedings. A complaint needs to be filed at the earliest. This can be vital evidence at the time of a car warranty coverage, as it would include details about the occurrence, the condition of the roads, contact details and names of the witnesses, and a detailed description of how the accident happened.
    3. Don’t get agitated – It is common to show anger when there is damage to your possession. But in such a situation, don’t lose your calm on a third party, even if you aren’t at fault.
    4. Make a note of all the information – After the accident, note everything you have seen. Recollect everything, take pictures of the scene, note down names and other details of the parties involved, and note down the car number, license details, and date and time of the incident. Also, remember to ask for the other party’s insurance details.
    5. Don’t Apologize or Admit fault – Do not admit your fault or apologize after the incident. While in conversation with an insurance agent, avoid accepting guilt. It is advised to be transparent about the scene and narrate the accident. If you plead guilty to the party involved, the insurance agent responsible for paying for the claim may misuse your statements against you to avoid paying for the damages.
    6. Neglect the follow-ups – After an accident, you must follow up with your insurer and attend to the third-party insurance company. There might be legal proceedings involved, which you may have to deal with. You will have to cooperate with the third party for things to improve and settle. They will guide you in handling the after-effects of an accident. They will assist you in dealing with the aftermath of the accident. Also, get legal help when speaking to the motor warranty provider to avoid jeopardizing your claim.
    7. File a case in the committee yourself – It is essential to request help from a lawyer before approaching the car warranty coverage. Your insurance agent will represent you in court for specific incidents.
    8. Do not stress about an increase in the premium – During an unsettling time of a car accident, one shouldn’t worry about the potential rise in the motor warranty premium. Insurance companies increase the premium primarily when it’s the driver’s fault.
